The Peallaidh is a Scottish Gaelic spirit that haunts rivers, lakes, and the seashore. It is a regional variation of the ùruisg, both being subspecies of fuath. The Peallaidh is known for having long, untidy hair. Two of these spirits were said to have lived near the town of Aberfeldy, with one called the Pealleidh an Spùit living in the Upper Falls of Moness and the other, the Brùnaidh an Easain, in the Lower Falls.
